Mental Health
Objectives:
- To support general practices/GPs in providing early intervention and optimal care
- To contribute to the achievement of the best possible health outcomes for patients with mental health disorders
- To assist in the reduction of the impact of mental disorders on individuals, families and communities, in collaboration with other mental health services as appropriate
Activities:
- Conduct mental Health CPDs
- Promote the uptake of Better Access to Mental Health initiative
- Provide up-to-date information to GPs interested in mental health
- Offer practice visits to assist with Better Access and other mental health initiatives
- Provide up-to-date information on drug and alcohol treatment and early interventions
- Provide information on HIV and HCV to GPs
- Update and distribute mental health resource information to all member GPs
