Accreditation

Overview:

Accreditation is very important to the Division as it assists our GPs to attain the highest quality in general practice.

National Accreditation Standards are developed by the RACGP and the AMA with the aim of engaging the professional in a comprehensive process of continuous quality improvement.  Accreditation has two serving bodies: AGPAL and GPA who audit general practices for accreditation.  General practices are re-accredited every three years.

Accreditation will help practices to increase efficiency, reduce risk, and stay current with trends and best practice.  Accreditation covers a wide range of factors, from helping improve practice systems, to providing the latest risk management advice and resources.  Accredited practice can generate more income by doing PIPs and SIPs.
