Mission Statement: To Support and Service General Practice.

Vision: For the Division to become the lead advocate of Primary Health Care and preferred resources provider for GPs.

South Eastern Sydney Division of General Practice Ltd (SESDGP) is one of six Divisions geographically located within the South Eastern Sydney/Illawarra Area Health Service (SESIAHS).

General Information:

The Division was formally inaugurated in May 1993 and incorporated under the Association Incorporation Act 1984 on 6 December 1993.  On September 24th 2001, the Division was incorporated to a Company Limited by Guarantee under the Corporations Act 2001.

SESDGP covers the following postcodes/areas: 2015 - Beaconsfield; 2017 - Zetland/Waterloo; 2018 - Rosebery/Eastlakes; 2019 - Botany/Banksmeadow; 2020 - Mascot/Sydney Airport; 2024 - Waverley/Bronte; 2031 - Randwick/Clovelly; 2032 - Kingsford/Daceyville; 2033 - Kensington; 2034 - Coogee/South Coogee; 2035 - Maroubra/Maroubra Junction/Pagewood; 2036 - Eastgardens/Port Botany/Phillip Bay/La Perouse/Chifley/Little Bay/Malabar/Matraville/Hillsdale; and 2052 - University of NSW.

The current membership consists of 213 Ordinary Members and 112 Associate Members.  The total number of practices within the Division boundaries is 81.

Many GPs are multi-lingual and are able to provide medical services in 20 different languages to a varied ethnic population.  56% of the Division's population were born in Australia, 14% in Europe in 22% in Asia.  1.5% of the population identify as Indigenous.
